One of my gliders lost the fur on the tip of her tail also, and I thought she was chewing on it and I was very worried. Then I noticed the
pink skin turned dark and she started growing thick black fur on her tail. When this happened 2+ years ago, someone on the internet told me
that this happens to gliders sometimes, and when the fur is fully grown back in, the glider has reached maturity. When this happened to my
glider though, I don't think she was as old as yours. I think she was only about 5 months old, but I can't really remember.

I never took Moe to the vet for this, and the balding never happened to my other glider, and the problem seemed to take care of itself. The skin looked healthy
and Moe didn't seem bothered by it-She has never had any other skin or health problems before or since. I would just watch your glider closely, see if the fur
is damp ever like she has been licking or chewing it, and see if the skin is becoming darker.

It might not be a problem, just something that happens to some gliders. I am not a vet though, so this is just personal experience with my own glider.

Good luck,
