mine do this too quite a bit.....i think they do it to get the salt in your skin.....especially if they lick a couple times before biting.....as far as i know there isn't any real sure fire way to break it.......someone recommended blowing on them lightly when they do......but it didn't really work with mine...they would stop at that time, but didn't stop all together.......my only suggestion is to grin and bare it, unless they really hurt.......hope this maybe triggers someones memory on ideas to help.
