: Okay, this is too totally weird. My baby is 3-1/2 months old and is no bigger than a medium-sized mouse. I have heard from other sources that a glider is not fully mature until 9 months. Why the variation. Anyone know?

Kim they are marsupials. look at the birthing of young of the kangaroos they are the same. The female have 2 genitalias and they can store eggs and fertilize them when they feel it is safe. That is why they are aged at an OOP age. some of the birthing and developement can be controlled by the female as to the speed of growth. Some babies stay in the pouch longer than others. Some gliders are smaller than others. There are so many variations. Someone said I had pygmy gliders, (not really) mine just happen to be smaller than some, the same as many. Maybe you have a glider as I have. Maybe hers is of the larger. too many variations to consider.
