Greetings and Merry Meet, Johnny :) Welcome to the wonderful world of gliders. 1.How much should I expect to spend on a weekly basis for food, etc. you can expect to pay, on average, possibly 10 dollars a week for food, unless you grow/make your own ( I do )
: 2.The people that told me about them said that you have to keep them on you for about a week. You don't neccessarily have to keep them "on you" at all times, but playing with them for about two hours a day outside their cage would be best. True? Will they pee/#2 in my pocket? No, they will usually only pee if you wake them up or scare them . : 3.Do they respond to their names at all like some other animals? Many learn to do so . : 4.Why should I NOT get one? Noisy, sometimes smelly, expensive to buy, need big cage, delicate, can be tricky to bond with ( depends on individual glider) : 5.Should you buy 2 instead of just one? two gliders are MUCH happier than one! They love the company of their own species . My female was beginning to get depressed, but I got her a friend and now they are very happy . : 6.Will they run away if you take them outside? You shouldn't take gliders, however well bonded, outside without a proper restraint ( harness, pocket, pouch, or carrier), because they instinctually want to be as high up as possible in the trees, and they feel unsafe on the ground . I hope it helps! - Merry Part, Flyte, Gwenny, and Little Ashes : Anything else you've got to tell me...positive or negative, would be great. : Thanks
