Try signing up with ISGA's glider talk. There are some scientists from Austrialia out there, One is also a wildlife rehaber. Their info has become invaluable. I have asked for the name of a book which they get alont of info out of. (Scientific Stuff) Maybe when we get that in our hands it will help. From what I have figured out their is only one subspecies close to a sugarglider (domesticated) like ours. That is the Squirrel Glider. From what I am understanding it must be a varation in the Gene pools over time. (Like silver poodles and Black poodles) They are the same but just have agene for different hair color. I am still watching Romeo's hair comming back after it was shaved. So far it is staying gray. I will definately know when it is fully in to see if he is brown (from tree staining) or gray.

Hope this helps....

: I wrote to Dr. RW Rose, Senior Lecturer School of Zoology University of Tasmania, and he replyed that he had no knowledge of color variation. I think he meant it was not his area of study. I have been trying to find a pen-pal type link to colleges in the Australia area but so far no luck.

: Anyone know what it takes to get a grant to go study Petaurus breviceps breviceps in its natural habitat?
