My approach is different: i feed Brisky's as a main diet, but add some treats, such as grapes and raisins. I also give my baby some juice every other day to make sure he gets enough fluid. He is doing perfectly fine and seemes feeling better than he ever felt before.
If we prefer our cats and dogs to eat dry food for health reasons, i don't see why sugar gliders should be different.
I think that my opinion is greatly influenced by the fact that my glider almost died from hind legs paralysis and now I choose a healthy diet over variety any day.
I also noticed that if you buy a glider who was fed a cat food adjusts to Brisky's easier and faster.
I hope i expressed my opinion in the way that noone gets offended.
