It sound like good ole' mating to me and it usually lasts a good 24 hrs. The only difference is that my females usually sleep for a long time and eat very little food. Maybe she is getting away from him for a breather. I would check her over to see if he hurt her in any way, than just watch her for any abnormal behavior. If she had any illness prior to the mating it may show up do to the extra activity. Most likely she is ok, but you are doing the right thing by keeping an eye on her for any other changes.
