: I'm afraid I have some very sad news. My male glider (6mo's old)died last Saturday night. I opened the cage to let him roam the house (like always) and made sure the toilet lid was closed. After a couple of hours, I was doing some straightening up in the bathroom. I opened the shower curtain and Milo was floating face down in water. I am still not over the shock of the whole event. I burried him in the back yard on Easter Sunday. I did not know there was water in the bathtub. My fiance had left the tub like that (I don't understand why). He feels terrible. Milo was not just a pet to me, he was my baby! We had such a special bond. Milo would come to me when I called his name. Sometimes I could mimick a barking sound and that would make him excited, he'd bark back then jump out at me. I miss him so much and I am very sad to have lost my special little guy in such a terrible way. I only hope it did not take long for him to drown. :(

: On Monday I purchased a new baby. I think we are going to name him Otis. :) He came out of the pouch on March 6th. I think he was too young to be sold. I am having some difficulties with him. He won't eat much, he sleeps all the time (even at night) and he just pulverizes his food, sucking out the flavor but not chewing the important part. I spoke with Carolyn MacPherson earlier today, she said this is not un-common for such a little tyke! Babies need special care, this one was not ready to move yet. He's crabbing all the time and at night he is hissing, calling for his mommy. It breaks my heart to know how scared he is.

: I am sure that time will produce that special bond, not found anywhere else in the world but with a sugarglider.

: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! Don't let this kind of tragedy happen to you. Make sure ALL HAZZARDS are out of the way when you let your pet out to play. DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING! This is a terrible lesson to learn, please learn from mine, not your own.
