David, you didn't say whether or not you took him with you, also if you had someone else messing with them while you were gone. So, what I am going to say is pretty general.. 1. If you had started developing a bond , then left tyhem home, it would be natural for them to be very angry with you, after all they felt you ignored them. I tell people al the time about the Vicious biting possibilities.. Few out there believe me. But what you have experienced is what we call pit bull biting,, where they clamp dpwn and shake their heads to get even a deeper bite going. Now the question is how do you fix the problem.. Well back to square 1, If the two males have been housed together , they will be okay as long as there is no female. They are angry with you, not each other. Go back to basics. offer them treats everytime you get a chance from your hands. rebuild a trust that somehow, someway, you have blown with him. Make sure only good things come from your hands. NO NEGATIVE REINFORCEMENT.. NO GLOVES.. use either unscented hunting soap or the exact same soaps you have used in the past. DO NOT change from what was working before. This may take time, lots of time. But it will be worth it. For trust, bonding and biting info check out the link below..
