When I went to talk to my Vet. he told me that they should not be kept as solitary animals, he said they are very social animals and that no matter how much time you spend with a single glider they still need one of their own kind for company. I have had a single glider for a year and a half and have had no problems. I do think that it will make him much happier with a mate, but if I kept him by himself I think that he would be just fine. A lot of people have single gliders, that is just one Vets opinion. I have heard that it would change their personalities and I have heard that it would not change them. If you spend a lot of time with him and he is closely bonded to you I doubt there will be a problem. I just recently bought a female for my male glider, I will be putting them together in about 5 months, I want her bonded to me before I introduce them. My male glider is 1 and 1/2 years old and is very bonded to me, I have felt really bad keeping him alone for so long without one of his own kind. Even if it changes him a little, I will be much happier knowing that he is happy. Have you guys heard of a Insectivore diet that comes kind of like cat food? Little Man won't touch mealworms and I've read that cat food can be harmful over a long period of time. The vet gave me a phone # for a company that sold Reliable Protein Products Insectivore Diet but it went out of business! Have you heard of anything else like that? Is the number you have 760-321-7533 California or 314-768-4592 Missouri, also here is the number for Zupreem they also sell Insectivore/Carnivore diets 800-345-4767 Kansas.
