: i just got back from the pet store here picking up meal worms...and noticed they had SG s again. they had 2 i'm guesstimating 8 months old in a small 10 gal aqarrium, with nothing but a cardboard tube on the floor to sleep in and food dishes (glideraid and kitten food) i took one of the peopel aside and recommened moving them to a larger cage....(they had one a good size for sale there, but wouldn't consider putting them in it. i also told them about cat food possibly linked to constipation and such...the girel looked at me as if to say...."so what do you expect us to do" right now i'm trying to find a number for the SPCA or other animal agency here. but don't see them listed in the phone book.

Argh! Some pet stores sicken me. There are already 2 pet stores in my area that I absolutely refuse to buy from. I bitched out the manager of one b/c of the way he was with the gliders there. He has an Iguana in a gladd aquarium, with a light and newspaper on the bottom. That's it. Well, there's a food dish, but it looks to only be filled every few days. And the other pet store... they had an anole in an aqaurium with nothing but a cricket. No water, nothing to hide in, climb on.. nothing. They also had a poisonous frog in with the non-poisonous ones... Im surprised that some pet stores even pass inspection... The floors are disgustingly dirty, the fish tanks are sickening and smell really bad(bad for fish tanks I mean...) It hurts to see all those poor animals in the envirnment they are in.

I work in a pet Store, but it's a good store. Iv been impressed with them since I first went in there, and working there has made me love it even more. All of the animal cages are cleaned daily, and everything gets fresh food and water etc. They also have things to play with. The birds have play toys and things to climb on, the ferrets, hamsters, everything. There aren't any gliders there right now, but Im sure when we get some in, they will be properly taken care of.
