Heidi,
How long have you had your new glider?
It's okay. It takes your glider approximatly 10 - 13 days to bond, and even then she will crab at you a little. Remember, she is so tiny and scared, your big hand comming at her is frightening. Let her sniff you to get acquainted with your scent (that's how they recognize everybody). Hold a half grape or something sweet for her when you put your hand into her cage, she will soon start to associate you with pleasant things. Eventually, you will not hear the crabbing sound anymore, not at all! It took about 3 months of consistantly holding my glider and taking him with me wherever I went before he stopped the crabbing sound. The bonding takes time. Be patient. I'm sure you will be a wonderful mommy for your glider, your logging on to this website is proof of that.

Make a little pouch with a draw-string that you can put around your neck and tuck under your shirt. Carry your glider in there all day long. Make sure she is close to your body so that she gets used to your scent and the sound of your voice. Maybe put a piece of fruit in there for her. She will be happy there. Just don't forget she's there! I don't suggest jogging or aerobics with your pet :)

I hope this helps you. Please keep us updated on how things go.

: My glider gets mad at me every time I want to hold her! I don't think she likes me very much! I know that sounds childish but I just want to bond with her!
