I can tell you haven't really taken the time to really get to know yuour glider. The figure 8 leash will constrict it's membrane, If you get a good chance check it out to see how tiny and thin it really is, then picture a leash holding onto that when they snap it out to glide. I am really, really against leashes. I have had the opportunity to hear the horror stories over the years of torn membranes and injured gliders that have used a leash. The manufacturers say they installed it wrong. Bah hogwah. the problem is that the design is awful. I have seen the neck leashes as well and the best way to know if that will work is to put a ball linked neclace on like the military id tags come on. then let some one jerk you back with all their might by the necklace. Now tell me how does that feel? they will be what the glider experiences with a leash on. Then you have the ones that actually tighten up when they are stressed.. There is someone here that that has happened to. as of a few months ago, her glider still doesn't trust her, even though she tried despretly to help.. Too many people want to MAKE their glider stay with them, rather than spend the time to learn to bond with them. once bonded.. the glider will look at you as being a safe zone.. you will be home base. If you get the chance, pet the membrane.. feel how tiny and thin it is. put yourself in the tiny body of your glider.. then tell me that you want a leash on ..

As far as pouches or pockets, well that is personal preferance. The pouch can be made, it should be roomy enogh but yet small enough to carry comfortably, It should block the sunlight without being too hot for them, yet allow for air circulation. Warm during the winter and cool during the summer.
