I agree, The males have two scent glands, one on the top of their heads and one on their stomachs which become completely bald when they are 4 - 6 mos. old. I have never heard of females with a bald spot and don't believe their tooth structure is right for pulling hair out. The breeder I got mine through has been working with gliders for about 5 years and is very knowledgeable. You can reach her at "karendeloney@locokazoo.net". Gregor : I have not looked through much of the archive, but I do remember a couple of your messages. I realize you are positive this is a female, but maybe your glider was neutered before given to you? Have you already explored that idea? Does Puddin have a pouch? I have heard of neutered gliders still getting a bald spot. Anyhoo, this is such a peculiar story. I hope she is okay. Oh yeah, I am curious, where do you live? It is interresting that you have a vet who is so familiar with gliders. :) : happy gliding, : cheri & gizmo : : Well I just talked to the vet and he thinks she is either overgrooming or just pulling it out. He checked for for mites and parasites and found none. He said other than the hair loss she appears perfectly healthy. He even said she was the best mannered glider he had ever had in. I am trying to find her another glider to keep her company but as you can tell from my previous posting I am having trouble find one in my area. Help!!! : : Any advice or information will be appreciated.
