Besides the smell being worse in the plexi glass cage your gliders will not likely care for the cage. Gliders love to climb, after all there natural habitat is the upper reaches of trees. Unless the cage is going to be extreamly large and there is going to be plenty of brances or something, I would not try the plexi cage. I suggest maybe a plastic wire cage if you do not already have one, that can reduce the smell too.
