It won't shatter, but it can chip at the cut edges. I would recommend taping both sides with masking tape along the entire line you want to cut, and use a blade with the smallest teeth you can find. You should be able to get a fairly smooth cut. You can finish the edges with progressively finer sandpaper, finishing with a very fine wet-dry. If you want an ultra-smooth edge, you can buff it out with a polishing wheel and polishing compound. I would also use masking tape if you are going to drill holes. This will help prevent scratches on the surface due to a wandering drill bit. Good luck! Kevin
