: Hello. I'm trying to convince my parents into letting me get a pair of Gliders. If anyone has any ideas, please email me. Thank you so much. maybe you shouldn't. I know that there alot of young owners out there, so this might upset some people, but here it goes anyway... How much do you REALLY know about gliders? If you have only seen pictures of them and think they are just cute, easy pets, you haven't done enough research! I was recently talking to one of my glider friends who just happens to be 16. I asked her if knowing what she knows now, would she still have gotten hers, or would she have waited until she's out on her own? This was a really tough question for her, but as much as she LOVES her gliders, she almost wishes she had waited. For several reasons. First being the fact that her parents dictate her glider rules. Her glider had babies and as much as she wanted to keep them, her parents said NO! She was heartbroken! Also, her parents would not let her take her glider to the vet. If she had waited until she was older, there would have been no one to tell her no! Another friend has recently had to put her glider up for sale because of her parents moving to a place that doesn't allow pets! If she were out on her own, she could look for somewhere that does! As much as this upsets her, the real loser here will be her glider. If you truely want a glider, PLEASE research them. Not only the cute, funny things they do, but the not so cute thigs as well. If your parents do agree to getting a glider, they should know as much about them as you! Since I'm sure over the coarse of 15 years they will be sharing in their care also. Okay, I've got my fire extinguisher! Ready for the "flames"!! :) Michelle
