: Well I have recently got 2 female gliders, they came with a cage a parakeet cage and I really want them to have a bigger cage, they seem content in the cage that they have. I was wondering if anyone has built a cage out of plexi glass? And if so can they please give me some directions, I really do not like wire cages the gliders tend to make a big mess and the smell is awfull. I hear that the plexi cuts down on the smell and mess.

Monica,
I strongly suggest that you get those precious gliders out of that parakeet cage! I had a friend have two glider EACH break their necks in bird cages (they stick their heads between the wires and then break their necks trying to pull their head back in).
Also, Plexigas will make you have to clean MORE often. Not less. You will have to stick your head in the cage daily and hold it there for 1 full minute to see if you can breathe - urine fumes and bacteria will build up much quicker.
My cages are VERY easy to clean, as are several other available on the market -
Please get them out of the bird cage before it is too late.
That cage is too small also.
Good luck
