Do you have a friend, by any chance, that would be willing to look after them for you while you're away? They do require alot... and sometimes a friendly, possibly familiar, face will make the time without you a bit easier for them.

I have (at the moment) an 'extra' that belongs to a friend of mine. (Due to a house fire) I play with her and give her the same attention mine get... I am familiar to her, so she seems to be content.... she's not quite sure about the other gliders, but is perfectly fine with me...
