Can you feel anything when you run your finger from her chest to her hind legs? If they're there, you should definately feel them by now. You should also be able to tell by looking at her that she is carrying X2...
My females who carry X2 are dragging their lil'bellies even 2-3 weeks before the joeys come out... they have that natural 'waddle'.

The actual time period that lapses... Im not exactly sure. Ive seen mine mate but havent caught them recieving the joeys into their pouch. I just kinda say 'OH! Babies' when Im playing with them and feel it there... or I see them when they come to the from of the cage to beg for treats...
From there I just estimate by the size of the pouch and # of little ones in there. It does seem to take longer for one to emerge, than it does for 2...
All of my females (have had babies) look a bit rippled at the pouch. I think it may be that the skin was stretched from before... glider stretchmarks.
As for poking around into the pouch... Ive never attempted to peek. Ive wanted to, but Im afraid to introduce anything 'foreign' to the pouch, including my finger (and any little germ-bugs that may be on it). I have pet (the outside of) their pouches and talked to them, played with them...

Maybe Bourbon can help you there. She posted some adorable pix of the joeys in Baybe's pouch...
