I find it very disturbing that someone could actually think that a home is COMPLETELY glider proof and that they would let a glider run free when they're not supervised. I found Bourbon's comments and question to be totally reasonable, and my first impression was that she was just being thorough in calling the dangers to everyone's attention, not scolding anyone - and you guys jumped all over her. I've seen a glider die because someone rolled over on them in their sleep. Just because your glider doesn't chew an electric cord TODAY, whats to stop them from chewing TOMORROW? A glider could land on a dresser or shelf and knock a book or other item over on top of itself and get crushed - lets face it, they can be clumsy when landing. Accidents CAN and DO happen. And once an accident happens and a glider dies, its too late. I don't know about you, but I'm not willing to take that chance.

I feel the only environment for them to run free in, is their NATURAL environment, but even then there are natural predators which pose a danger also. In other words, there is NO COMPLETELY SAFE environment in which a glider can run free without supervision. Except for if you put it in a empty room - and what fun is that?

And I'm not trying to slam anyone here - I just disagree with this issue, and I'm not afraid to say so. But just because I disagree, doesn't make me right or you wrong - ITS JUST AN OPINION. The same with Bourbon - she just wanted to make you THINK before you acted. She really is a valuable asset to this board - I wish you guys could see that and get off her back.
