Well, I don't really know what you're supposed to do, but I have two dishes for each. My hubby got me two pink ones for Belle and two blue ones for Baron before I even got them.
They just seem to know which ones are theirs, and that way I can see who's eating what and can tell what each one likes. They also each have equal amounts in their own spot, so they don't fight at dinner time and neither one gets more of one thing leaving the rest for the other! :)
