Subject: Congrats..... Posted by JO on May 10, 1999 at 21:12:02: In Reply to: update on my new joeys, all OOP now! posted by CandiMI on May 10, 1999 at 18:08:13: : Hi everyone!!! I promised to post again on my new babies, they all came OOP on mothers day ( although they still squeeze back in now and then ) I finally got a decent head count today ( not easy to do with the moms sharing responsibility and two pouches and one nesting box to contend with LOL ) but each female has two healthy joeys!!!! WOW 4 new little ones... of course their eyes are still closed, I've only pet them lightly in the pouches and help a couple for about a min each ( wow they do expel a skunk odor at first ) but they are the cutest little things, I simply cant wait for the eyes to open and to be able to start holding them for longer periods... I could use some advice on starting to hold them, for how long.. how should I hold the, in my hand only or in a shirt/pouch, one at a time or a few etc etc etc??? Just want to get the sweetest most bonded babies I can! : so my "critter crew" now numbers my original three and their 4 new joeys, and also the pair I just purchased/rescued ( the first daughter of two of my trio, and an unrelated male ) Giving me a grand total of 9 gliders... I've done alot of thinking, and if I can find a good home to purchase the newly aquired pair I'm going to let them go... I think it would be for everyones best interest, they are young and still friendly... and I feel that my time would be better spent bonding with the new babies, and contiuning my efforts to bond with my older trio... so in case anyone is interested see my next post for more info on them! : Sincerely,
