My 4 joeys ( 2per female ) have been OOP since just this past Sunday ( mothers day! ) and are doing great... except early this am I was awakened by an unusal sound ( the gliders, all 9 now including my four newest, reside in two cages in my bed room ) I've learned to sleep through the usual ruckus but this noise got me right up... it was one of the babies "crabbing/barking" something along those lines, I got up to find one of them at the very top on the outside of one of the fuzzy pouches I have hanging on the cage sides... I put it back down with the other three, for it only to crawl right back to the top. This is about a 3 1/2' drop to the cage floor, and being that their little eyes aren't open yet I was worried one might fall and kill or really hurt itself, so I took both of the pouches out. : When I first got this trio their nesting and only sleeping area was a rubbermaid container, large one... I added more bedding and a couple little blankets and everyone was quite content, then I read about how much gliders love soft fuzzy pouches so I went and bought some of that fake fur and fleece and made some, they do love them... and this is where they've slept since I first hung them in... now everyone is back in the original nesting box ( never took it out, they just ignored it after the pouches were hung ) do you think I should leave the pouches out till the joeys are up and around on their own??? I just dont want to risk a fall from that high!!! : Thanks for your advice! : Sincerely,
