Usually, if the baby's out, he's being pushed out (unfortunately). Watch that it's not being rejected. Maybe too much competition, and perhaps stress in the cage. Is it possible to separate the mothers from the males for a while? My sister had a bad experience with a baby being rejected - I'll spare the details.
