: Is anyone aware of Hemp? I think its a plant that grows wild. Well, my gliders chewed the strings completely apart off of a Crown Royal bag I carry them in. I can't find ANY pouch where I live what so ever. I looked everywhere. They either have chemicals, dont close right, too big or something. But I did find the perfect bag made out of Hemp. The store clerk said it has no add in chemicals and would not harm animals.I want to make sure. Maybe she was just trying to sell. I dont know. If anyone does know, please let me know. I did buy it, but I will wait for a response.

Tiffany was correct that hemp comes from marijuana plants. It is completely safe for your glider though, it does not contain any of the chemical compounds that get people "high." Hemp is the fiber that comes from any plant in the cannabis genus, not just marijuana. It grows wild in many countries inculding the US, but it was made illegal to grow here because it is hard for law enforcement to distinguish from marijuana plants. It can be imported from other countries however. It makes an extremely durable and breathable material. The store clerk is right, hemp plants are grown with very little if any pesticides or fertilizers because it is resistant to many pests and diseases and can grow in very harsh soils. The pouch should be fine, good luck!
