: Keep in mind that I feel my sugar glider is not yet fully bonded. I am confused about the two hour minimum rule. Books, owners and breeders say that you need to spend at least two hour if not more with your glider so that it don't get lonely. Ideally, most of this time spent should involve interactions. What if you carry your glider with you, but rarely interacting with it because it sleeps most of the time. Does the time carrying your glider around with you contitutes spending more than two hour? Another point is that I let my glider have at least two hour out of cage time to explore every nook of my room. She seldom comes back to check on me and ocassionaly I will retrieve her. The interaction time probably sums up to only 10 minutes. Does this meet the definition of the two hour minimum rule? All opinions greatly appreciated.

Xay,
I think you have to be the judge here. Is your glider paying as much attention to you as you would like? I find it odd that he/she is not coming to check in with you during its romp around the room. Do you hand feed meal worms when the glider is out? That is what I do. Then, they come to you, eat a meal worm and go exploring again. After a while it will become a habit to "check in" with you. Best of luck.
Btw- my personal opinion is - carrying them around when asleep bonds them to you but playing with them makes them your buddy. Just my nickel . . .
