: I just got a male glider, he is 8 months old we have had him5 days now, the first couple of nights he was very scaredhe has come a ways since then, he takes food from our handand also lets us pet him while he is in his cage on a branch. He has put his front feet on my hand to take corn from me,my question is, how long should we wait before we try to get him out of his cage? Is the best time at night when heis awake, or during the day while he is sleeping? Being that he is 8 months old do you think he will still bond to me?Any suggestions will be welcomed. Thanks!

After he's been asleep for a while in the day, wake him up, when he turns to look at you, offer him a treat (a peanut or something you know he loves, use this treat only for this purpose), then quickly put him in a sock or secure pocket while he's still half asleep and enjoying his treat. He will roll around some, talk to him sweetly and pet him gently. He should settle down and finish his goodie. If he struggles madly in the pouch, offer him another treat, if he won't take it, put him back to bed for the day. Keep trying this until the day comes when he finally settles right down and wants to go right to sleep, you can keep him sleeping on you all day. He should be pocket happy in a few days.
