Hi!! I also am glad to hear comments here. I rescued a brother sister pair from the petstore aquarium..they must be about 5 or 6 months oop. They haven't been handled except to be chased around with a gloved hand to show prospective buyers. They were terrorized to say the least and just shook all over...the male was in a frozen state for almost 3 hours. It has been 5 days now and although I have not been able to touch them, they are eating off my fingers and allowing my hand in the cage without biting me. That is how Cruella got her name..she got me first as I put my hand to near her then one of my joeys was climbing on the outside of their cage looking for his mommy when she tried to bite his little hands!! Almost tried to pull him through the cage bars!!! Now they come out of their bags to watch me when I call them and are so wonderful to watch them have freedom in the tall cage I have them in!! I have only owned my first glider for 3 months and she is the joy of my night owl life!! :o) So I am taking this little progress as a good sign! Keep up the good work...as with anything time is the cure to all hurts and fears, which means bonding will come eventually! Don't give up!! : Really? You don't wake him up during the day?:) Ah that is great, I have been worried about that...A lot of people say they wake theirs up...but I dont have the heart. She sleeps so soundly with her little tail wrapped around her.. : (that I am afraid she will take my hand if I get that close while she is vulnerable) ah well....:) : Whenever she is awake, I will feed her and talk to her...until it seems she doesn't want either anymore..I am hoping that after a few weeks of doing this that she will calm down and allow me to handle her and spend more time with her...Luckily I have not heard a "Glider Failure story" : yet when it comes to taming the untame/neglected/abused, it should be okay:) : Thanks for your reply, I love them:) It was VERY encouraging:) : Mandy and Pele (Paylay) *she is a fire goddess (volcano)* : --> seems a bit fitting huh?:) : lol
