Generally, it will be about three days of lots of noises and fighting. Mine when the female will actually acept the male, the mating seems to go on for around a twenty four hour period. During this time, they don't seem to eat as much. The males tend to get rather aggressive. Caesar wouldn't let Cleo out of the pouch at all this time. So good luck.... JO
: Your friends glider Cloacal Aperture("common sewer"). This is an anatomical feature typical of marsupials. The reproductive system, urinary ducts, and alimentary tract all open into the cloaca so that only one orifice is apparent at the base of the tale. [ This information is strait out of the book "Sugar Gliders A Complete Pet Owner's Manual" by Caroline MacPherson ]. Suggest to your friend that she picks up a copy of this book, if it is not available, she can requist a copy by writing to the author at: 3193 Hill Road : The fluid is either urine, or scent marking. : Ask your friend if her male glider has a bald spot, if he does, that means he is mature, and yes, he is probably wanting a little action :) : Hope this helps,
: : She was feeding them one night and noticed that the male was all wet around the genital area. He was also a bit swollen in that area. He was very intersted and was persuing the female to mate. Is it normal for this to happen? She had never seen them actually mating before. : : I don't know if there are any other night owls that might know but if possible I'd like to see what I can find out before I see her at work tomorrow. Thanks in advance!
