okay Mandy, lets get to the smells on your hands, you are doing everything you shpould be doing, worrying at the expected times etc.. lol,, you are doing fine.. now lets talk about the smells. some soaps, lotions perfumes the gliders don't like, their respitory is so very sensitive that if the scent is strong they may try to "hurt" the smell away.. Some smells we have found our gliders don't like are... soaps... Irish Spring, Dial, any strong scented perfumed soap, the soap my hubby uses at work... we know have settled with Coast.. it doesn't seem to bother them, Laundry detergents... Tide, Gain, Era. and mine hate the fragrented fabric softeners. My hubby and I don't do the petrfumes and aftershaves..but we have noticed when my daughter uses it that hers about freaks.. The same with the hair sprays.. These are just some things we have noticed here and from talking with some others.. I hope that, that is all there is.. Also something you may want to keep in mind is that if your glider was neglected and abused, that a common scent that you may have with the previous owner may also set it off.. Good Luck
