Joe, you said you would be gone for 6 months.. We have been Glider Sitting for just over a week, as with someone else earlier we ran into some serious problems. The glider that we have had was really bonded to his owner. He is 8 months oop, and loved his owner very very much. Here is what we ran into. he was a licky, sweet glider, though many changes took place for this little guy, we had his cage, and all things were familiar, he knew us and we allowed him to play in the evenings. He has turned very aggressive, not in a hurt way, but in an angry way. He misses his mom very much and at this time we think alot of this , is his anger towards her for leaving him for so long. She will have to start the bonding process over again to regain his trust. He also has a new girlfriend which he is very, very protective of. He is behaving much like a child who feels like he was abandoned by his folks. We have treated him as if he were one of ours plus more. So my suggestion to you, would be to take him with you. By keeping him with you , he may become a little undone but nothing like the rejection that he may feel if you don't take him with you.
