Hi Ashley,
Sugar gliders can't really be potty trained. They will always have accidents no matter how well or carefully trained they are. Also, sugar gliders need to be with thier person A LOT of the time...otherwise they can get lonely and may even die from loneliness. A sugar glider is not a good pet to get if you go on a lot of trips. Gliders are not allowed to go on airplanes, and they are not allowed in many hotel rooms. Ask your dad if you COULD potty train your glider if he is willing to sneak your glider illegally into planes and hotels. Also, gliders can't go skiing or places where it is cold and you will be outdoors because they will get sick. They cannot go outside at the beach because it is too hot and they will get sick. You need to also talk to your parents about the glider climbing on furniture. Gliders can make marks in furniture with their little nails and teeth. Have you thought about getting another kind of pet that can stay at home by itself and CAN be potty trained? Maybe a cat, or dog, or gerbil? I hate to discourage you, but gliders are very hard to take care of - they take a lot of time and money.
