I don't think moving the cage will help, as the flies really don't concentrate near the cage. I have noticed they are in the kitchen (very clean) even more so latey.
Now that you mention it, I haven't felt the need to bath them, it may be time to try. They aren't bonded and one of them is only with us a short time. The other is a whole other story. (pardon the grammar)
