The first two questions have been answered already. Let me throw in my $.02 on the travel cage. I built a collapsible cage that is 24" wide, 18" tall, and 18" deep. It folds down to 24"x18"x2". We also carry a 24"x18" plastic tray to line the cage. Both of these will fit into a large soft-side suitcase even after we've already crammed it full.

We use a very small pet carrier for transporting the gliders (when they aren't tucked into a shirt), then set up the cage at our destination. We carry a few toys and perches from their regular cage (2'x2'x6') so they feel more at home.
