Subject: Glider rescue in New Orleans
Posted by Julius Landry on June 05, 1999 at 10:45:36:

I live w/my wife & our wonderful baby named Sugar who just celebrated her 9 month birthday on June 1. We have a custom designed mansion for her ( gender reassigned...was a male, then got fixed ) that is 48 x 36 x 36 w/numerous branches, a swing, a ladder, a hammock & 2 houses. I feed her only the best organically grown fruits & nuts from Whole Foods Market & she gets honey-glazed meal worms. We love her so much & have read 2 books & lots of research on the net since adopting her. She has sleep overs w/ her 2 friends Kibbles & Bits ( 2 Sugar Gliders that my neighbor owns ) & I feel that she is happy when she gets this opportunity & is a lot more hyper the following day from returning home. I want to get her a female playmate & would rather rescue one than purchase. This would aid in the rescue effort & save me some money that I could in turn spend on the babies. I also have a great vet here in the New Orleans area who is an exotics specialist & sees many SG's a week. Sugar saw him the day after our adoption, once in the first month b/c she was acting solemn & we adjusted her diet & once for her 6 month check-up. We take very good care of our baby & hope you can help us find her a friend.

Thanks in advance for any help you may give us,

Julius, Helen & especially "lonesome-4-one-of-my-own" Sugar

PS Please e-mail me privately as I do not visit the message boards ofter...thanks again
