We discovered the ohter night that Janet(a rescue) had a joey who had just come OOP. Two nights later we found the joey dead on the bottom of the cage. I have been warned to expect this but it was still a shock.

Janet refused to use the pouch the next day. She curled up in the new hanging food dish. I put a hollow plastic log in the cage and she moved into it right away. I took this as a sign that she was not able to stay in the pouch most likely because of the smell of death and so I washed the pouch.

Hubby buried the joey in our flower garden. Janet has started eating again so I am not really worried about her at this point but will be keeping an eye on her.

Her first baby Rocky continues to thrive and is a happy little boy.
