One of my cages currently is galvanized wire and their pee turns the wire white and it rusts. I would not recommend it at all. Instead use the green wire - I can't offhand remember where to get it, but I can do some research and find the website that sells it. I am from Canada so I'm not sure if your local hardware stores sells it or not. Email me tpopowich@sprint.ca if you need me to find that website that sells the green wire for you.
