Rye,

I completely disagree with what you've been told, who told you this... and how old is the glider you're thinking of buying? I know personally that my joeys aren't even weaned yet but they are climbing all over the place inside the cages... upto 4ft off the ground... even my smaller joeys are exploring the cage. If you're thinking of getting a joey that is too small to be exploring his/her new environment, then in my opinion its also far to young to be seperated from its mom... and you will have many many nights and days of trying to hand feed it ( and trust me, thats no picnic... I would never want to do it again unless it was this situation again where I have to feed the babies because mom isn't producing enough milk, NOT because a breeder had the wacky idea that the sooner you take the babies away the friendly they will be... NOT true! )

Regardless best wishes to you and your new glider! As for the cage, be sure the wire spacing is small enough that the glider cant get through, or get its head out and choke... as large of a cage as you can afford, plenty of branches and toys to climb on ( parrot toys work great ) I also give little balls on the bottom for them to play with ( cat toys ) and I'd say a wodent wheel is a must :)
