Definately contact tha aspca or humane society in your area.. My girlfriend recently purchased a hedgehog that was ill nourished, weaned way to early, and infested with mites.. She called in about the pet store she had gotten it from, and someone was at the pet store within hours.. Don't let it lie..

: The other day I was at the mall, and I decided to look around at the pet store. I know that mall pet stores are bad, and i hadn't planed on buying anything but i wanted to look around. I went in and looked at the sad little puppies lying in their messy cages that are too small and i looked at the large parrots in a cage that had nothing in it but a box, nothing to play with at all. As i got near the entrance of the store, i noticed this cage that they had previously had a sugar glider but had sold it to another pet store, so i had never seen one in there. Well, any ways i looked in the crampt nest box, if thats what u wanna call it, and i saw a little glider! I know it was wild caught by the brown color of its fur. I was APPALLED(sp), the cage was no bigger than a foot tall, and the little room it had, the people stuffed fake plants in it. the food dish which contained old pear peelings was covered with magots and fruit flys. under neath the cage, their was nothing but two trays to catch the waste. I asked the clerk where the manager was and she pointed me in the direction. I approached him and asked him if i could talk with him about his sugar gliders. He said "oh, would u like to take one of our little fellows home today?" I told him no , that i wanted to talk to him about their living conditions, i pointed out that they have flies swarming around them, and he said that u can't get rid of a fly, and that they feed them fresh pairs every night, he got a really cocky attitude and i about hauled off and punched, but that wouldnt be nice! He turned around and started talking with another customer. so i left, i could see i wasnt going to get anything done talking to him. I'm afraid the only thing they are feeding them is pairs, cuz he didnt mention feeding them anything else at all. I was wondering what i should do? i was going to call the RSPCA-its like the aspca only for Richmond. But i figured they get calls all the time about that certain pet store which by the way is called PET LAND i only know of that one in my mall-chesterfield townecenter-. So if any of you have any ideas on what i can do, please let me know. Sorry this was so long, but they made me so incredibly mad!! thanks again. Rachel
