Ryan-
I have never heard of one glider eating another except
in the case of a mother (or father) eating her very young,
just out of the pouch babies. Once the glider is old enough
to be away from its mom it should be able to somewhat defend
itself. I introduced a baby female to a 1 1/2 year female and had no
problems. I kept them in separate cages for about 4 days and then
got tired of the barking and whining to be together. I introduced them right
away, but kept a close eye on them. My older female did get tired
of the baby trying to get into her pouch, ride on her back, etc. etc, but
just gave her nips and crabbed at her when she was tired of it. The baby
got the idea pretty quickly. they are best buddies ever since. As for
the bonding with you part, I got a very tame and sweet baby who had
been handled a lot since her first toe stuck out of the pouch, so she was very
willing to bond and used to human touch and smells. I would think though that
your baby would be more willing to bond with you if your other glider trusts
you and your gliders know eachother too.
