Just keep them away from each other and make sure you wash your hands well before and after playing with either.
I have two cats, and one is deaf and totally ignores the cage, but the other one is always drooling outside the cage!
I just make sure to do a "cat sweep" of the room before I get my gliders out. Also, since the kitty was a stray it might be a good idea to take it to the vet for a good check-up and shots! Good luck! :)
