Animals can sense tention and change. They get used to you being a certain way, smelling a certain way, doing certain things, and the envirnment they are in. If you alter any of those things, they will feel it. So yes, having a cat will affect your glider. BUt that's not necesarily a bad thing. My gliders know their boundaries, err... they know that they are safe while in their cages. They don't mind my two cats at all, my gliders find the cats interesting and vice-verca. But that doesn't mean I let them freely interact!! *Any* time my gliders are out of their cages I have my eye on them every second. So, like Ms. shell said... just becareful :) You may want to introduce the cat and the glider... just so the glider knows the cat is there. Imagine being in a small enclosure and suddenly having a huge thing come up and sniff you, terrifying!!
