I was given a racing greyhound when I lived in Arizona, He had jerked him from racing once he found out the trainer was shooting him up with steroids. He would have the nastiest muscle spasms, and we would have to massage him down on a regular basis, the vet couldn't find anything to help him, cause the damage was already done, The meds you are descibing sound like what they wanted to give him, and eventually we had to resort to it. We felt that it was much more humane to keep him sedated than to watch the awful pain he was in when he would spasm up. Eventually, we had to have him put down, between the meds and the spasms, his mind could no longer function. I wish you all the luck in the world and my prayers are with you..
