: Candi, many times people jump in and answer what they think they read not what you wrote. I am in the middle of something similar. I clearly read you say you thought it was probably cruel. This has also been discussed on various email lists. Yes it may work but no discomfort I doubt it. There is also the odd case of something just going wrong and septic shock setting in. I also understand that the thought of paying over $100 per glider for four or so is frightening. Have you tried your local ASPCA most of these have discounted rates for neutering. Or you could just try to put young males together and get around the neutering. I was in a very similar situation to you when I rescued seven gliders from a woman two years ago. I ended up with nine which I loved but took up all my time and one bedroom of a two bedroom apartment. I didn't go out any evening for nine months. Eventually I found homes for all but two making a total of four gliders I now have. Keep taming them and put a post on Ruth's board. People's assertion that only young gliders can be perfect pets work against people in our situation. wrongly so as the people who eventually adopted the gliders love them and find them as friendly as can be. Keep going, all the sensible people here who think know you are a glider lover and are supporting you
: Good Luck
