I think that sound you're referring to sounds like glider crying. My baby did it a lot, usually when she was away from me, and wanted to be held. Is it sort of like panting, and then little high-pitched moans/cries? It's hard to describe, but I think that's what you're talking about. Anyway, the cry is a sound they use with their mother-- when they're trying to find her, when they want her to find them. It might mean she's scared and she wants you. OR, it may just mean she wants her mother and NOT you ;) Either way, it's probably the glider cry. And, may mean she's scared or lonely.
