Subject: update on my critter crew to all those who have been so helpful and kind Posted by CandiMI on June 24, 1999 at 17:15:51: Hello everyone... In the past few months I feel like I've not only learned a GREAT deal about gliders, but met some simply wonderful people here on this board... from my questions before I got my gliders, to the typical new glider questions, learning my girls were expecting ( are they? aren't they? are they? AARRGGHH hehee ), info on my "rescue" purchases, my excitement over having four little girls come OOP, my fears when two needed around the clock nursing, my long " oh my god I'm going crazy what am I going to do with 9 gliders " mini book posting, my attempts to find suitable buyers for some of my crew, and even my recent search for a knowledgeable vet to neuter my guys... we've been through alot together, and so many of you have helped pull me through with your encouragment and support, not to mention great advice! So.. whats up now you might ask... Well my four joeys ( all girls )are doing great... we made it through the scary times of self feeding with Angel Baby and Spyder ( although I am still nursing them, they just dont want to be weaned easily LOL ) Mango and Kiwi ( the healthy girls ) are doing wonderfully, eating on their own and seperated from mom and dad for a wk now... they reside with Sassy and her twins. Sassy is going to spend her life with the babies now, I wont allow her to breed again just incase she has a genetic defect that caused the babies to be so small etc, Bumble and Max ( my older pair ) are doing great... happy news is that after what felt like forever looking for a new home for them that was suitable I met a wonderful family online, the woman is home all day.. she has her one pair and their three babies, she just received her USDA approval and is planning to become a hobby breeder... her gliders have lots of attention and love and pretty much free run in one room of the house... she's going to buy Bumble and Max, then when she found out that I had another young pair she wanted them also... so my beloved little sweeties Geo and Wizzer are going along too... I'm actually kind of sad to lose them, they like me LOL but I know its best for all involved... they get a great new home with lots of attention, Geo doesn't have to be neutered right now, and my 4 babies and Sassy can get all my attention just like they deserve! Guess my final point here is... things really do all work out! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone.. I'm awaiting the arrival of the new mommy, I feel like I'm losing part of my family ( almost 1/2 actually LOL ) but I feel good knowing that because of me these gliders have a safe home, the rescue gliders lucked out, and my babies not only pulled through the rough times but now get lots of attention! Thanks for listening... sincerely
