: My sugar gliders hind legs are dragging and we have no vets that are familiar with exotic animals. I would like to know what I could do to nourish her back to health. I know calcium must be used but in what form??

A gliders dragging of it's back legs can be caused by other things, not just a calcium deficiency. However my vet has treated two of my gliders for HLP and can give your vet the proper dose for a calcium injection for your gliders. She can also give your vet the proper doseage of a calcium supplement that your vet can provide for you, that you add to their drinking water.
I e-mailed Elisa so that she would get this response quicker but wanted to post my response here for everyone else to see as well. Please write down the following info. just in case you too suddenly need this information. Dr. Bobbie Griffith can be reached at 252-637-4541. After clinic hours Dr. Dan Johnson can be reached for consult at 919-844-9166.
