: now what?

: I have visited this site and read all the info posted here, and am going to the library to check out some books on them(any suggested reading?).

Please let me know if you find anything. There are usually no books on gliders in the libraries here. Maybe just a picture in a book but thats about it. There are some good books out there. I highly reccomend Caroline McPhersons book "Sugar gliders; A complete owners manual". You can probably find that one at the local bookstore. It is put out by Barron's. Also there are a few others. You can see them if you do a search in Amazon.com, I don't personally have any of those and there are some outdated things in those books too so watch out.

: what now? I DON'T want one from the dreaded pet store. I want one from a loving breeding home.

Great. I think the best place to get them from is at a breeders. They are less traumatized there. Just if you can make sure to know what to look for when you get your babies. There was just a bad situation with a glider getting sold too young. make sure the tail is fluffed out.

: I'm living in Virgina. Please fill me in if you have some info.

There are alot of good sites on the net. I have learned alot more from the boards and mail lists than in any book. i have a bunch of doifferent glider sites. if you want them let me know and I can post them or mail them too you.

: OH don't go giving me the spill about it is like having a child. I have a child, and he is well taken care of, so i know the ropes!! *S*

Well, I won't give you the ropes since I don't even have my gliders yet. I have been researching for 5 months and am still learning. Sounds like you are off to a great start!
