: Are there certain times you have to feed Sugar Gliders? I am doing research before I get one, and I really need to know this. Also, do any of you regret taking on the responsibility of caring for a Glider, or is it worth it?
Hi! When I got my male glider >Little Bit<. I got him as a fad pet. I saw them on T.V. and I wanted one. I'm a big animal lover.
I didn't know what I was getting myself into. The breeder I got him from told me all about him and how to take care of him and gave
me a sheet of all this stuff. I thought how easy this is going to be. Boy was I in for a shock. Feeding him, cleaning his cage
wasn't any big thing. I was getting upset cause he wouldn't come near me, would play with me. All he did was bite me when I tried to
pet him, play with him. I started to think about giving him up tp someone that could take better care of him. Then I found this board
and meet a whole bunch of people that could answer ALL my questions. My family start to get involved and they got books and printed
stuff out. Everyday is a learning experence with him. He still bites and wont let me pick him up and I've had him of 2 1/2 years. Then Kim
one of the girls I met on her told me some ways to help with the biteing along with a whole bunch of other stuff. I can't imagine my life
without Little Bit. Kim then sold me one of her joeys. Her name is Wickit and she's the complete opposite of Little Bit. Now that I've got
her Little Bit has calmed down and lets me pet him and love on him, but only when he's in the mood. They can be a pain in the butt, but they
are worth it. I'd like to stress this. If you are tight on money don't get one. I had to take a trip to the animal er about 2 or 3 months ago.
My boyfriend helping Wickit to practice her gliding and was sitting on his arm. He would toss her and let her glide to a pillow. Well when her
tossed her she decided to do it on her own and pushed off his arm at the same time. She went right into a wall and hit her head really hard.
She couldn't stand up with tipping over to the side and wouldn't move. She ate a little bit, but not enough. The doctor gave her a shot to help
with the swelling. For the doctor to see me for about 10 to 15 mins., and give her a shot. That trip cost me about $100. She's fine now and her
gliding is perfact. Sugargliders aren't a cheap pet. I hope my long story helps you out some. I love my gliders to death. They are the best pet I've
ever had.

P.s sorry this was so long..

Nikki
